Hope someone can help me, just turned laptop on and the square finger thingy that you use instead of the mouse sorry I have no idea what it is (tablet maybe?) is not working I have had to plug in the good old fashioned mouse. Now I am a bit of a technophobe and have no idea what to do next. Can anyone help?

i have tried FN and F7 but that just alters brightness.
I have also tried the start menu but it's vista and it doesn't appear like that.
Thanks you two for trying.
any other ideas?
Perhaps you'll find the Mouse section in the Printers and Other Hardware category of the Control Panel?

You must have a new laptop. If you find the touch pad is enabled perhaps the dealer you bought it from might be able to help?
