Each time you use satellite navigation in your car, do you have to pay to use it ? Because you're using a satellite each time, don't you have to pay a subscription or something to use it ?

Yes it is free once you have bought the DVD that the system needs. This is usually included in the price of the navigation system but if you want more detail say of a particular city, you might have to buy another DVD, depending on how good yours is. It is a great system and makes driving so much easier. It free had better be free as I drive with it on all day!
correction, there is one "free" too many there.
They will also try to sell you an annual update disc, which includes new roads, one way systems etc. I guess that is how they make their money. My husband swears by the sat nav, personally I could strangle the annoying woman who keeps telling me to "if possible, make U turn", and being a woman I am obviously an excellent map reader ;-)
By "excellent" do you mean you can rotate the map really fast? Just kidding :)
