Has anyone any idea how much it would cost to put a newly qualified 22 year old girl onto her mothers insurance. The insurance normally costs about 150 per year.I know I could just ask my insurance company but i dont want to have to answer all those tedious questions just to get a ball-park figure.

During the past 18 months or so I have asked that my 22 year old son be included on my insurance three times for periods of 2 days to 1 week. On each occasion there was no cost but the excess (in case of a claim) increased from 100 to 400. My insurer is Direct Line and the whole process took less than 3 minutes. My advice is phone your insurer and ask.
if going on the insurance for the whole year, then unfortuantely i think they're going to recalculate the premium according to the 'highest risk' driver, ie the 22 year old. in which case she may be better off with her own insurance and a company who does an accelerated no claims bonus plan (admiral worth investigating for that). really is all down to your particular insurance company and of course the car. best of luck. (i put a 17 year old on my insurance for about 20 for a weekend and did that for 10 successive weekends leading up to his driving test, car valued at about 50p)
