I watched top gear this week, and J Clarkeson was using the keyring remote to lock a car,but when he got about 30 metres away from the car,the remote was out of range and would not work.J.C then put then moved another 5 metres away from the car,put the remote upto his temple and pressed the button.Amazingly, the remote worked.I thought he was mucking about, but I have now tried this, and it works. Can anyone explain how this is possible?

Maybe you are acting as an aerial for the remote so extending it range
always suspected it and this proves it, Jeremy Clarkson is an Igor
I think what is happening depends on how the remote works. if it is working on RF frequencies then the brain cavity, being largely water( or in clarksons case a weak solution of testosterone in gibberish) will act as a lens. if it is ultrasonic (unlikely these days) then the cavity will resonate a la dolphin and amplify the signal.
I've been using this trick for ages! Except that I put the remote under my chin. It's fascinating!
Saw this story in one of today's papers. Even Mercedes accept it as fact (according to the report) but can't explain it. Various theories doing the rounds but if the people who make them can't say for sure........
in yesterdays episode of topgear ( 11/2/03 ) the ruled the cavity theory, and someone suggested that the nose and ears act as satilite dishes?! =/
tried this today on my focusRS and to my amazement it worked! well confused!
