I was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle, I was taken to a police station and breathalised, the reading was 57, I was told I would revieve a summons to court in about 3 or 4 months, it is now 6 months since the date of my offence and I have not yet recieved a summons, can I still be convicted in court if I recieve a summons in the coming weeks or months? also I live in Northern Ireland, is the motoring laws any different to that of mainland Britian.

I assume the police kept you until sober and charged you with drunk in charge. The summons should have been with you by now the limit for court action is 6 months. Did you opt for blood or were you charged on the intox reading.

You could contact the Arresting Officer if you want to know the status of the investigation.

I have do not know the proceedure in NIreland but if you were charged in England then the English law applies.
