They are now using commas in place of decimal points in garages and Supermarkets. Are we not cowed enough by the EU beast? Must they subjugate us totally? Is this just mopping up the last of the resistance? Will someone not save us from this EU nightmare?

Well I did my best Loosehead, I deliberatly grew an extremely curvy cuecumber. And I photographed it.
On the serious side Tony has just about acheived what Hitler failed to do. He has surrendered our country - good old Winston must be turning in his grave and what a waste of human life in two world wars.
Mr Blair will go down in history books but not as he probaly expected. He should be sent to the tower with that grapsing HRA lawyer wife of his.
If they want to be part of Europe, why not reduce our taxes on petrol booze and fags in line with European levels?
??????? where I've never seen it.

Or is this a troll? Think up some lie about the EU and spread it as gospel. Heaven knows there's enough real to moan about.
I know it's disgracefull!

and so expensive! Next thing you know we'll be paying over a groat for a gill of petrol (whatever that is)
My nomination for the most stupid question of the week.

Dzug, next time you go to a garage, look at the total, not all but a surprising amount have commas where the decimal point should be. Also in ASDA this very day, quite a lot of things had commas. I think I've got enough form on here to be considered a non troll.

Gef: Why is it a stupid question gef? tuoched a nerve did I? Uncomfortable subject was it? Are you so unsure of your position that a question on the EU induces your terminal Europhilia to get the better of you?

JTP ah bless, I knew you wouldn't let me down, one of your ever present leaps of illogic, instead of answering the question.
I've looked through all my receipts for the last month - some 20 or 30 of them from a dozen or more different establishments - and none of them has commas.

That's why I posted.
And why blame the EU anyway? What's happened is that someone has got some new equipment that they haven't bothered/don't know how to customise properly. Or they've employed a Polish programmer who wants to feel at home.

After all, a high proportion of home PCs are set to American English coz that's how windows comes out of the box.

Personally I blame Bill Gates.....

who said anything about receipts, I was talking about pricing on pumps and shelves.
Loosehead you have way too much time on your hands :c)
Here we go, Why have some of you got to bully people, Looseheads point is valid, you may not agree which is fine, but to ridicule someone because you think the question is not of your standard is pathetic, but then most bullies are.

Thanks yassa, but I can handle these pansies
I think you should have posted this in "News", where all the other loony rants are posted. :=)
Well, I too have seen commas used as Loosehead describes. Not very often, admittedly, but they are out there. Most people don't notice, I suppose.

I agree with ugly_bob: I do think it rather odd that we seem to get all the downside of being in the EU and none of the upside.
I put diesel in my car today. It cost 90.5p per litre or was it 90,5p per litre. Who cares?

Perhaps Loosehead would prefer 4.11p per gallon.

So you are happy with the current invasion of the UK by foriegn powers then eh Gef? right oh! won't call on you when we finally wake up and fight back then.
Good Grief! You want to go to war over a comma?
Why not got to war with the US over the spelling of "Dialogue"?
