If a wire gets hot will the resistance increase or decrease and why?

increase. Temperature is a measure of the velocity of molecules. So higher temperature, faster moving molecules/ions which results in more collisions with electrons that are trying to pass through the wire, hence slowing them down and reducing the current. Lower Current = Higher resistance.
