Don't forget that to record from the digibox you will need to configure the machine to take its signal from the AV-in socket - not its internal tuner. I hope this doesn't sound patronising, but judging from the frequency of questions about this type of scenario, it seems to confuse many people.

Thank you Rojash, but can you tell me how to do this. We are wrinklies!! and not up to date with all the new technology.
As a semi-wrinkly who had a similar problem, I'll try and explain. The Digibox converts the signal into freeview programme info, so is the first in-line from the aerial. The output from this Unit has to go into the Video. The SCART output from the Video has to go to the SCART on the back of the TV. The DVD player goes into the second SCART on the back of the TV. The only trouble with this set-up is that you can't record one freeview programme WHILST watching another channel. If you have a third SCART input on the TV, it may be possible to wire up to solve this - I don't.

Unfortunately, freeview is like satelite in that you can only record what you are watching. Since the box only decodes one channel at a time you can't watch anything else - fine of your out and missing something - no good if there are 2 programs on at the same time.

At the moment, you can record from freeview and watch one of the 5 analogue channels or vice-versa, but from 2008 when the analogue signal is turned off this will no longer be possible

unless you have a twin-tuner freeview box ugly_bob! This allows you to record on one channel whilst watching another.

Oh. OK. Didn't know they existed.

I stand corrected

The important bit is when you set it to record, instead of selecting a TV channel, you need to select AV in. If you're not sure how to do this, check the instructions for the video recorder.
