Well Sky offer Multi-room.

We had a Sky+ box fiitted recently, and moved the existing Sky box to our bedroom. It only cost us 10 a month extra.

The Sky+ box is great because we can record one channel while watching another (or even record 2 Sky channels at the same time) onto the hard disk.

And with the other Sky box upstairs we can watch a different channel from the one downstairs.

thanks for replying, i dont think i made my question very clear though. we too have sky+ downstairs and a seperate sky box upstairs, but our kids want it in their rooms too. the sender which we have tried seems to get interference from the internet.
Can't you just use a splitter and run a coax cable to each TV? Whatever you're receiving on the main TV upstairs, that should be sent to the others, no? Not an elegant solution (cables running everywhere) but I think it should work.

i could try that snook, thanks. we could go up into the loft, would it weaken the signal i wonder ? worth a try though - thanks.
If you have power in the attic you can buy a booster/distribution box and run as many lines as you want from this to the other rooms.
I did this and it worked fine. The kids had to get out of their rooms to change channels and it caused no end of fights over what to watch since they had to share the same channel.

We also have sky linked to different tv's. We did it ourselves.

Main box is in the bedroom, then coax cable coming out of the tv into an ariel booster, then out down to the living room, then into the kitchen. The pictures are fine on every telly. (just a pain having to go upstairs to change the channel!)

Try these, it saves you going to turn it over.
