my employer has just told me that my job is being moved to another area but I am not entitled to redundancy as they are going to offer me another job with some of the bits of my old job in it. My old job title no longer exsists - my new role will have a new title - are they allowed to do this. Any help appreciated.

sounds OK as long as they consult you and give you the options.
You should be entitled to the following - your salary for the new role should stay the same as is now (ie not drop) for a fixed period at least as long as your notice period - probably more.
You should automatically get the old job in the new location if you are willing to relocate (though they are not obliged to assist your costs)
You should be given at least your standard notice period before the changes take efffect.
You should be given the opportunity to ask questions and a fiar amount of time to consider options.
They could have made you reapply for the new job, so it sounds like they've been very fair indeed by offering it to you already.
Where are you? Are they moving just to someplace local which is still within reasonable travelling distance?
Do they expect you to move from London to Inverness? If your present job ceases to exist then surely you must have a claim for redundancy.
Time for some serious negotiation I think, and it sounds as if you need some help. Firstly do you have a union rep? If not then get along to your local Rights office but don't commit yourself to anything unless you're happy about it.

Speak to a solicitor. A good practice will give you some basic informal advice over the phone (for free) and assess whether you might be being taken for a ride. Alternatively, visit a Citizens' Advice Bureau for free advice. If you've worked for this company for at least twelve months you are reasonably well protected in law.
