Query On Registering A Guarantee
25 Answers
I recently bought a new fridge freezer. I tried to register the guarantee. So difficult. There was a part of it that said ‘I am not a robot’. Then there were pictures that popped where you had to spot traffic lights or mountains. Eventually, I did not succeed in doing this registration, I got really fed up, so I decided to contact the firm by email to complain. The email would not send as it would not accept my postcode. Anyone else had trouble or has anyone any advice please

(There's a detailed article about it here, if you're interested: https:/ /www.th everge. com/201 9/2/1/1 8205610 /google -captch a-ai-ro bot-hum an-diff icult-a rtifici al-inte lligenc e ). In many cases I often can't work out why they're necessary at all. (i.e. they seem to be protecting sites from bot attacks when nobody could possibly have a reason for attacking those sites with bots in the first place!).
I doubt that complaining about it would get you anywhere though; we seem to be stuck with the ruddy things!
From reading your post, it seems possible that you've encountered a site which seeks a US style zip code in an address and refuses to believe that a UK postcode is genuine. I've also had my 'gmx.co.uk' email address refused on several occasions because systems have been configured to only accept addresses ending in '.com' as genuine! There are clearly people involved in the coding of such sites who've never heard that the world actually exists outside of the USA!

The advice here if you are struggling to register is as said above - contact the retailer.

The company is actually based in Hong Kong, so I'm not surprised that the sizing is wrong. (Chinese sizes are notoriously smaller than UK ones).
Before ordering from any website that you don't know well, I suggest that it's always a good idea to put the company name into Google together with the word 'review'. That often takes you to (reasonably trustworthy, although not perfect) review sites like TrustPilot:

If I found the site you mentioned I wasn't impressed.
Got a REGISTER NOW popup that would only go away if I pressed REFISTER - then when I pressed the back arrow the site changed to dollars! (I didn't register)
I then found this - says a Chinese return address

Good luck!
