Dishwasher Problem

There was some water left in the bottom after the last cycle it went through, thought it must be a blockage so checked the pipes an filters. Machine will now not allow me to run any programmes, on/off button lights but when I press the programme button to put it on to a programme I get nothing. Programme buttons will illuminate for a couple of seconds when I press them, AFTER I have switched the machine off but nothing after that. Any ideas on what could be the problem?

could it be limescale build up or electrical fault. If it's still in warranty call the company, otherwise I'd call a plumber for advice
