Ok, I don't know anyone who actually does this, so I was hoping someone here can enlighten me:
Why do some people site right at the front of the cinema? I mean in the front seats? Why? How on earth can they possibly see the screen properly without ending up with neck pain and sore eyes?!

Its annoyed me for years, please someone explain how it's done!!

When we went to see Jurasic Park, we did not prebook our seat and the only seats available were in the front row. We have neve been so uncomfortable in all our lives. Bearing in mind we are not teenagers, (not implying that they do not know how to sit) we ended up with our necks on the back of the seats to be able to see and it was a bit close when the dinnasaurs were running across the screen. Never again.
i've never sat right at the front (that must be quite scary!). I do sit towards the front as my eyesight isn't great even with glasses. It can be a bit strange when everyone else is in the last 6 rows and I'm plonked near the front!

leg room, and no heads in the way, i'd think

I do sit on row two or three, but not the very front.

Two reasons, one is less chance of being annoyed by noise behind, and second is, I'm a real 'in-your-face' cinema goer - I like the sound, the sight, the full nine yards right in my eyes and ears - fabulous!

I sit in the front row too. I like the whole thing same as AndyH. The only other person I know who used to sit right up in the front was Francois Truffaut.(sp?). He, like me, liked nothing in the way of him and the movie.

Was great for matrix films, the bullet time and everything was fab, Worst was lord of the rings, it was such a dark screen, it was difficult to differentiate things.

Little bit scary sometimes though.
The last time I sat nearer the front than I wanted it was like watching tennis. Constantly turning from left to right to catch everything.
