Hi folks, I really want to buy my son a full face crash helmet, for on his push bike, the thing is I don't know how you measure the sizes. Which part of the head do you measure etc. I have seen one I really like, it says it is 54 - 58 cm but that doesn't really help me lol. He is 9, thanks

You mean a full face motorcycle helmet? I understand your inevitable "safety" response but he won't wear it as kids are very sensitive to looking like a total dipstick.

To get the size just put it on if it slips off easy it's too big. if it takes a lot of effort to put on then it's too small. Just check for general comfort and no gaps. The sizes of helmets are like trousers ie some times a waist 32 will do sometimes it 36. Manufacturers have a different ideas about what constitutes an inch!

ROFL Loosehead, no I mean one like a motocross helmet
Like_this He wants one for christmas, but I guess it cant really be a surprise if I have to get it fitted.

you must get it fitted on his head - it must be snug, so guessing a size would not be wise. I suggest just taking him with you and trying them on.

if its for a gift - mock up a 'helmet voucher' on the computer and put it in a card then take him to the shop

Good idea joko, that's exactly what I will do, cheers
Take the head to the shop, unless it's a surprise.
