3 shoveler
1. Service Tree
4 jack snipe but where's the bird ref?
Jack (frost) + snip (cut) and E (point on compass)
Why would the answer to no5 be a bird?
I think Goofy has it with jack Knife
ignore my parsing- I can find no such tool as jacksnipe
i think the parsing is correct and the tool is jack ... op states that the answer must contain a tool

^ hence my shoveler answer ...

Thank you.
Thanks- yes- I agree now that jack snipe is right, but the clue still seems odd, as does the SHOVELER one as I can't see where the duck fits in ( I can see duck can be LOVE but that doesn't help)
Shoveler is a duck
A shoveler is a duck
shoveler - type of duck
Thanks. So that has a definition whereas the jack snipe one doesn't does it?
4. Jacksnipe is a type of Snipe( bird)
Thanks emperor. i was just querying where the definition was.
I'm not sure whether this is the same Tool Quiz (also closing date 12th Jan) where the instructions given on here were "answers are places on a route through UK, with clue or answer including a tool. " Maybe it's from a different section of the quiz
