Sonic cat repellers

Four local stray cats find our front garden extremely attract. The main attraction would seem to be our very stupid Springer Spaniel. The cats seem to delight in taunting him. They appear to have calculated how long it will take the daft dog to get to the fence, the gate etc and so out run him every time. While this provides all parties with much innocent pleasure ,my garden, thanks to galloping cats and 'Red Rum' is a wreck. My husband has suggested one of those water blasters. I'm not quite sure if he intends to 'shoot' at the cats ,the dog or both.I suspect it's just an excuse to buy a water blaster (the old fool) I have seen sonic cat repellers advertised and would be grateful if anyone who has has experience of them, could tell me if they actually work. Many thanks in advance.

Many thanks woofgang.I shall go ahead and purchase a repeller.Hopefully the local strays all have excellent hearing! 'Red Rum' will be upset when his furry friends no longer visit and will sulk.He can sulk for Britain!

Now with the cat problem solved, does anyone know of a good sonic repeller for husbands?.I keep locking the door when he is due home but he hasn't taken the hint. He's 64 and I would really prefer two thirty-two year olds. One could do the housework.....!

Just a quick thought -

Would the noise that repels the cats not bother your dog, or can cats hear things that dogs cannot (the same way dogs can hear things we cannot)?

I know my dog is set off barking by the slightest noise sometimes!

Greetings.

The same thought did occur to me.I did see a repeller advertised which allowed you to choose which pests you wanted to repel (husband, neighbours, sellers of miscellaneous goods...I wish).I think I will assign the husband the job of 'bending the ear' of the local vet.'Red Rum' is due for his annual MOT next week.I think it would take more than a high pitched sound to stop a determined Springer Spaniel doing anything!

Many thanks for taking the trouble to share your thoughts. It is much appreciated.

What's a 'sonic cat'. I've heard of Sonic the Hedgehog...

Or you could always try going to your local zoo and get some Tiger turd. Spread that around and your whole neighbourhood will be cat free.

Just a suggestion

I've heard lion turd is good for keeping foxes away. One problem with turd of any kind:last night we took Red Rum for a gallop in the field and he rolled in something deeply unpleasant and smelly! Can you imagine the permanent state of him if we spread 'unpleasantness' in the garden? Silly dog that he is, would be overjoyed. He would be out there all the time wallowing in the 'mess'.Many thanks for taking the time to reply.
