An intersting link jake but cling film is not made from cellophane. It is plasticised PVC and a google search will come up with many links.

Gosh you're right I'd always used the terms interchangeably.

Clingfilm seems to be made to a number of recepies especially since some recent health scares regarding the leak of plasticisers used in the original PVC based formula.
