Keyboard (Musical One)

Not sure where to put this question but here goes.

How do you know how many octaves and electronic keyboard is? my daughter needs a stand for her's and the one she's seen says it's suitable for 5-6 octave.

Eight notes, eg C to C. D to D etc. is an octave

Each full octave has five sharps (the black ones sticking up). This pattern of five sharps is repeated with each octave.
