Is there any way to repair scratched CDs which are causing the music to jump?

you can buy cd repair things from pretty much anywhere i think. pop into dixons or something and they should be able to help. you could even try argos or index, i saw one the other day but a cant remember where!
I've seen service advertised that shave the surface of the disc so that the bad scratches and nasties get wiped off the disc.  The service is usually around �5 and most companies deal with the places that rent out playstation games and DVDs.
i believe Cockney_si has your answer however i also believe that this service is only any use if the "bottom" (clear side) of the cd is the one scratched and not the "top" (the logo side) is the side scratched.

if the logo side is scratched, that is the side holding the data, and then the disc is un-repairable :(
Iv'e never heard of the label side being used to store information on a CD I know some Cd's used to be double sided and the same with DVD's but the 'label' then used to be on the bit in the middle that the spindel went through.
