Purely for research, obviously.

Trying to get it just right.

It's hard to judge the Angostura.

I like the cherries, though.

I think I've used too much Angostura.

I thought it was easy to make on, but you have to get it ... juuuust right.

Like Baby Bear's porridge.

I've thrown a couple down the sink because the bitter was too overpowering.
Did I read somewhere once that a drop from an eye dropper is sufficient?
I love Angostura, now, what's in a Manhattan??

Only a drop of Angostura bitters you'll need.
don't you just swirl the Angostura bitters around the glass sides first?

That's not too much bitters. It's too little bourbon, martini, cherries and ice. Simply add more.

Well, not on a Mondy, anyway.
last time i had one of those was in 1978, at a cocktail bar in the middle of nowhere that was all the rage, lit up all around outside with glittering fairy lights and the garden was like a grotto, watched the cocktail waiter make them one after the other and the swirl was his trick.
here's a variation I found

VARIATION: No bitters. Substitute a twist of lime for the cherry and orange. Hold the lime twist in a lighted match over the drink and then drop it in. The heat really zips up the lime flavor
Perhaps the eye dropper isn't such a good idea. Imagine accidentally dropping bitters into an eye. It might sting a tad.

I have a salad dressing atomiser spray thing, which I use to mist vermouth onto the inside of martini glasses for Dry Martinis.

I suppose the principle is similar.
I foresee an award for services to humanity on the horizon. Good work Jayne!
