Im about to repaint some pine doors. They currently have Ronseal satin quick dry varnish. I will be repainting with Dulux quick dry satinwood paint. Is safe to paint straight on to the varnish or should I give it a light rubbing down first?

You need to rub down the varnish to give a 'key' to the surface for the paint. After sanding clean off with White Spirit to remove the dust and any wax/grease from the surface. If the pine doors have any 'knots' exposed after the sanding you might need to treat them with knotting compound.
