Will My Report Be Seen?

I reported Desktop's thread earlier this afternoon, and it has now been deleted.

Does anyone know if the Ed will see my report which was attached to the thread, or has the whole thing, including report, been deleted?

Well, someone has to see it in order to make the decision to delete it. So the answer is probably yes.

I guessed you had, Boo, as I saw your comment on it.

It's just something Ed said to me not long ago - he said that a deleted thread is gone for good, deleted from the site and AB can't retrieve anything off it. I actually thought it was like when you delete something from your computer - it hasn't really gone for good.

I submitted a report quite early on, long before the thread was deleted, so I wonder if he got a copy of the thread as it stood when I reported it, and before others had added comments?

I don't know if I'm explaining that very well. :o(

If a thread has been deleted by a Mod, what if the Ab Editor did not agree with the deletion?

I think I read that Ed sees all reports, because only mods can delete them apart from him - so surely there must be a record behind the scenes as to who reported what, so he can see if there is a pattern of certain people being reported.

I'm sorry personally if that thread escalated - I was (to quote) "fed up" with desktop's lack of acknowledgement, and that thread was addressed to me personally - but others were supportive that we weren't picking on her, just trying to get our message across about her lack of response. I didn't see the latter part of it, then (we were watching the rugby) so I don't know how it ended - better not ask.

When I read that Desktop had spoken to the Editor on the side of how she was being treated - how was that done - just curious.

Presumably by email, Conn under the "Contact us" facility. I know Ed helped Desky a lot and has seen her FB profile.

It was Ed who assured us that she was genuine, and to cut her some slack when people were disbelieving that her tales were real.

Boxy, that's what I was querying...Ed did tell me that when a thread gets deleted, that's it...gone for good.

Of course, he might've just been saying that to shut me up. :o)

Boxtops, I thought that but Mrs C said otherwise. It's maybe a difference between being removed pending a review by the Ab Editor who then decides to delete (or he's too busy for that and trusts all the Mods' judgements).
