Have read about the harmful particulates from wood burning stoves causing respiratory problems & cancers. http://woodburnersmoke.net/. There has been a trial in Tasmania.
Are we better to burn smokeless coal in our multifuel stove? I thought wood would be cleaner so haven't tried coal.

Scary Chris. I'm really disappointed as I've noticed a tightness in my chest, reminds me of bronchitis I used to have as a child, & the stove must be the cause. Tried a bag of Ecoal, ash not as fine as logs so think that's a better option.
