it's just amazing me that people sell their house and then are blissfully unbothered about packing up anything because they are paying someone else to do ti. who would leave their cupboards and drawers just as they are for someone else to have to clear? for one thing it means the sellers have no intention of cleaning the house before they leave.
not necessarily true. When we have moved in the past, we have had someone follow the removers in to clean the empty house.
I'm with you Dotty, I would spend weeks cleaning & tidying before I would let anyone loose in my drawers!

Surely when you move its the ideal time to have a sort out & chuck anything you dont want, you wont want to take everything will you surely?
I knew someone who had Pickfords move them, and they just got up from their breakfast and walked out to their car, left all the left over food on their plates and dirty dishes etc. I did wonder if Pickfords would wash them up before they packed them away (I certainly wouldn't have, would you?) -rosy
They did pay £1,500 for Pickfords to do the job and they also supplied food and drinks throughout the packing. If I could afford it, I think I'd do the same - one of the most stressful things going is moving ! I liked the programme, I thought the moving guys were lovely with great senses of humour. Suppose it helps in that job !
When I moved house 6 years ago I paid a local firm for a complete move, I didn't pack a single thing, and it was worth every penny. When I got to the new house they unpacked and put everything away.
I did pay my cleaner to do a complete house clean at my old house........
Pickfords have packed up and moved me several times..do not do a thing as their insurance becomes invalid..they even fed the cat !!
The chaps on this programme even helped to find the little dog when it went missing - awwww ....
I paid Pickfords to move before... made sure there was no crap hanging around and packed my own shoes and clothes, other than that I didn't lift a finger until I got to the other side (alas, hadn't paid them to unpack!) Why am I going to do something I just paid someone else to do? It's like people who clean before their cleaner gets there, if you've time to do that then you don't need a cleaner.
