It can be bad if you refill a plastic bottle and leave it in the sun - there is research that if you have a bottle of water in the car, the action of the sun on it can produce toxins in the water. Otherwise no, I don't think so - I reuse plastic water bottles all the time.

^ the toxins in the water can leech from the chemicals in the plastic bottle, and this action is triggered by the sunlight.

Ahh okay... It's all I drink from!! I always have about 5 in the fridge.

Another thing I don't understand... Why does bottled water have an expiration date?? Lol!
well i never knew that ! but im assuming its ok to reuse them and store in the fridge ?
I know..... it lives for hundreds of years in the ground, then we bottle it, and suddenly it's out of date!
Yes anne, IMO - I do it all the time.
I think you have been myth led
I don't understand why people buy bottled water - I prefer to use the tap!
^ it's hard to take the tap to the park with you....
jumbo........... its now '' cool '' to be seen clutching a bottle of shop bought water,
Ah, indeed, cf, but I use my trunk.............
There's research, mick, about water bottles in the sun.

Yeah but I prefer drinking from bottles....
You sometimes see drinkers sitting in the sunshine drinking their cider from plastic bottles. Could they be doing themselves harm?
morning sandy. the sunshine, the plastic bottles. or the alcohol ?
lol sandy.

you also see people drinking beer/lager from cans. are they vulnerable to metal poisoning?
Too much sunshine's not a good thing and they don't look the sort who would spend money on sunblock. I'd never thought of metal contaminating the contents of the can. A little alcohol can't do much harm, can it?

Morning all.
They are probably alcoholics sandy....so sunburn plus plastic plus a nice ripe liver from the alcohol..mm...not doing themselves a lot of good...

I'm at the moment sitting on a deckchair in Scarborough with a tin....should be safe there I'd think......well you got to wash the fish 'n' chips down wi' summat..;-)
