Hullo all. Just bought an MP3 player in UK that I intend to take to the USA in a few weeks time. It's the type with a rechargeable battery & comes wth one of those big adapter plugs to plug into the wall socket.  What I would like to know is, can I take this recharger to the USA with me, plug it into an intenational adapter and still be able to recharge the player? I mean, isn't that like adapting the voltage twice? Once from USA to Uk, and then through the big UK adapter to trickle charge the player?? The company do sell a multi-plug world adapter, but at a huge price! Thank you x

Tha adaptor plug that came with your MP3 player reduces the strength of current to the battery from something like 13amps down to 5 or less.  The American adaptor changes the physical shape of your pins on the plug.  America uses a 10 amp system.  I believe.

So, it would be Ok simply to use an international adapter & my UK charger???????
check the player for it's voltage rating - It will probably say on it somewhere 50~240V. This means that the US voltage rating of 140 or thereabouts will be fine.
