I have an Excel problem, and it is driving me mad.My spreadsheet is 4000 lines long, and I want to use the Auto Filter function so that I can use the dropdown box to search for one of the lines. The problem is that the dropdown only shows 1000 lines. Is there a way to increase this to 4000?

how about temporarily splitting the spreadsheet into 4 smaller ones?

you would have to autofilter 4 times, but it should work.

Secretsquiz. Thanks for your reply.I did actually think of doing this, but decided against it because I would possibly have to search 4 times to find what I am looking for, and with a customer on the phone,I was looking for a quick way to do things.
Have you thought about doing this in Access?

Of course not knowing the type of data you wish to search or how it is organised I cannot guarantee that this tip is applicable but you can split the data into groups within the spreadsheet itself and auto filter the (smaller) appropriate group... look here
