Old pennies scrap value

I've got about 500 old big pennies that are getting on my nerves. What's the best way to get rid of them? Is there any scrap value in them? Thanks.

Why would you scrap nostalgia ? I'm sure you could sell them to a dealer, or even put them on an auction site.

I've had a look on ebay and it looks like nobody is interested in buying these things. Someone's trying to sell 300 for 12.99 and only 4 people have even looked.

No 1933 ones in there. I agree Old Geezer, but if no one wants them, i can't think what else to do.

Do one of those Blue Peter boxes where you bury a chest of them in the ground with a note to the lucky finder about things from the past. Probably need to be well greased though.

they are useful props for period dramas. i have a huge box full.
i actually had to make all my own notes though.

if you dont want them you could give them to a prop hire place.... (they may give you a few quid if you ask...thats if they need them)

We have loads of pre-dec coins and also foreign ones. I love to keep them. They are part of history. My OH has a cartwheel tuppence in almost mint condition. He once took it to the museum to ask them to look at it, and they said it was better than the one they had and could they buy it from him. He refused. We think it must have been to a family member when they were born the same year, so we would never sell it
