I had a great time at Alton Towers yesterday but I can't get over the Hex ride.. Does anyone know what this thing does to you?! I understand the room rotates so that you feel like you are upside down and i'm sure you are moving to some degree, but at the start of the ride nothing is moving yet the sensation is there, do you think that the room drops pressure to create this sensation?

The seats you sit in can move, like on a pirate-boat ride. The walls you can see also move. As you can tell more easily later on in the ride. At the beginning, the seats move and the wall moves the same distance to make it seem like you're not moving. The rest of the ride continues in a similar way. ie the seats tip one way and the walls move the other way to make it seem like you are about to fall over the edge or even go upside down.
