i am looking for auitable low growing shrubs or perrienals to help with soil erosion on the shores of my pond (or small lake) i an in zone 4 and it is full sun preferably nothing with berries as i have a problem with geese thank you linda

Hi Linda the pond is probably lined so the bank will be as dry as your surrounding garden.  Ordinary garden plants will be quite happy and its just a matter of choosing what you want, preferably with a good root system to bind the soil together.  If the pond is not lined then the soil will be moist or even boggy.  Iris siberica, salix (dwarf varieties like swiss willow) or cornus(dogwood) works well here in my garden
