You mean for drugs?  As far as i know there are 2 different typre - 1 a matrix patch, where the drug is evenly distributed throughout the patch, which is sticky, and applied to the skin, releasing the drug over a specified time, the drug goes through your skin and into your bloodstream And 2) a resevoir patch - this is where the drug is in liquid form in a "resevoir" in the patch (meaning the patch cannot be cut or it would all leak out) with sticky round the edges and gets absorbed through the skin and on into the bloodstream, having a systemic effect

Not an answer but a damn good wheeze.

When I gave up smoking I started with full strength patches.  Eventually it was time to 'progress to 3/4 strength.  Now, instead of buying 3/4 strength patches I simply cut a quarter out of the full strebgth patch, giving me an effective skin contact area of 3/4 of a full strength patch!  Next day i cut a patch in half and added the previous day's 1/4 taping then together with mocropore to give another 3/4 patch.  Next day using the remaining 1/2, and a 1/4 from another patch I had my 3/4 strength.  The following day use the 3/4 remaining from the previous patch.

When you go down to 1/2 and the 1/4 strength it works just as well and saves you a shedload of money
