My eldest son has just come home from school and informed me that he needs a womble costume - any ideas anyone?

My idea would be to Google for ''womble costume hire''
"All you need is some white cotton fleece-like material, some yellow/orangey sponge (to create the feet, hands, snout and inner ears), a couple of sheets of tartan and you're well away. The eyes can quickly be improvised from red, white 'n' blue card and a black felt tip pen"

That was found on a website which I daren't link to, as it's called 'Professional Domination'!!!
;-)

I think that hiring might be easier!

Anyway, you've taught at secondary level, and so have I. Can you ever recall an occasion when an 11-year-old lad needed to dress up as a Womble? (Do most of today's 11-year-olds even know who the Wombles are?). I certainly don't remember such a situation! (There are some very odd things going on at that school!)

Was it already bookmarked?
There are times when I know what a post is going to say before I even click on it, Chuck ;-)
Is there a prize for the best thread title of the day?

I think "Womble Costume" is the winner.
You realise that everyone will now log on to Professional Domination just to see what it is like.
We'll all be disappointed if there are no handcuffs.
I would just hire one, chances are it would never be used again and buying seperate materials would be costly and time consuming.

Hi all - it's for some talent competition (the mind boggles). Does make you wonder if teacher has put any thought into how it's going to pan out.
I can't equate Wombles with Professional Domination - whatever turns you on I suppose!!
But having come from Wimbledon, I do know there are a lot of funny goings on on Wimbledon Common!!
But were the "funny goings on" underground or overground?
Both!!

Wimbledon Common is a den of Womble Vice!!
Arr, so they'd be wombling free then..

(did they make good use of the things that they found?)
my idea would be to change schools ;)

It's actually a brilliant school (good job really, as the other option was a bit rubbish). Could be worse, some of the other kids are Pingu, Postman Pat, etc.
The closest I've come to Wimbledon Common is The Fox And Grapes (I think it was called).
Jayne, I know it well. My Dad used to take me for a walk over the common every weekend and we would sit outside the Fox and Grapes (him with his beer and me with my lemonade) on a wooden bench for half an hour or so after our walk.
a dominating womble

that has nearly nearly knocked barbie girl out of my head
Beware the windmill car park... you can get caught by the rangers....

MMM madame Cholet with a whip.... sounds fun.... must remember that one for a cold wet afternoon
