Thanks.
TIA ?
I think it's easy enough to say thanks if you want tooi don't think it would make much difference. Some posters rarely acknowledge answers, perhaps because they have forgotten about their question or more likely they just can't be bothered or don't ssee the need.

However, nother reason why some people don't say thanks is they simply don't know how to reply to their own questions, and if they have IE6 they don't see a SUBMIT button. A thankyou button could help here provided it can be seen via IE6.
should be have a hello/good morning/please button as well?
My keyboard is still missing out letters on AB (doesn't seem to happen anywhere else).
My last post should have started:
"I think it's easy enough to say thanks if you want to so I don't think it would make much difference"
a button for " what you having for lunch/dinner/tea button is essential IMO. :)
And a "what is a nudgescuffler?" button
FACTOR, i agree with your suggestion, but only to be used by those abers who are under 10 years old !
i like this idea. I have recently noticed that i don't tend to thank people for my answers, which is silly really and i don't know why
No need for any more buttons on AB. I much prefer to say 'thank you' personally.

Darn it ann I'm older than 10. If we had a goodnight and a lol button as well we wouldn't need to type anything.
And a button to be used by anyone objecting to my posting.!!! It would save having to type a message to Editorial.

How about AB developing and giving us a download of a 'Thought Processing' system, whereby we merely think what we wish to say and then press a button.? :-)

it can be a pain if on a mobile phone or a slow computer to open windows, type press submit, wait for it to send, etc...a button makes it instant

if you prefer to actually write it out, then you are free to carry on doing that... but dont moan when you dont get thank yous...

i think more people would use them, that would go in an specifically thank everyone who posted...every time a new post was added...
I think it's a good idea :-)
One doesn't thank on each occasion someone posts; one waits a while to give others a chance to post and then express appreciation to all those who have been helpful in matters. Furthermore, I never moan when I don't get thanks; and this could be the case with many other ABers.

ron, but this isnt just about you and what you do...lots of other people do things differently

sometimes you wait and wait and by the time you realise you will get no more replies you have kind of forgotten about the question...

so each time someone gives a good answer if you could click on their name simply and quickly it would be easier
on a scale of 1 to 10, how important is it that a person thanks you?

it has never bothered me, but I am just interested :)
it'd be more use than the "mark as best answer" button
true bednobs ;)
Joko, thanks for posting this. I think it's a damn good idea. <thumbs up>
