Clearing out some cupboards and drawers today for Bric-A-Brac for the school fete I found several Silver chains, nice chains but... they're black.
Does anyone know how I can restore them to their silvery self?
I know you can get that 'Silver Dip' from the jewllers but they want £6.99 for it, a bit pricey for a few chains.
What concoction can I make at home?
Thanks folks.

It works on most metals, so I can't see a reason it wouldn't work on silver. :)
scrumple up som aluminimum foil in a heatproof bowl, add a couple of teaspoons of bicarb and pour on hot water, drop the silver in and leave for a couple of mins, all will be clean and shiny.
