I keep getting this message when I try and install something from a CD-ROM. It stops me and I can't get past it: 16 bit Windows Substream. C:WindowsSystem32AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application.........Close..........Ignore.
What does this mean? What shall I do?

I had the same with a programme, and was given the following Microsoft link which eventually solved my problems.

"Please refer to this Microsoft article for details on troubleshooting such issues:"

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us; 324767

Sorry, you'll need to backspace the address to delete the formatting that seems to copy across, the end of the address should be '324767'.
Copy the autoexec.nt from the c:/windows/repair folder and paste it into the c:/windows/system32 folder. The autoexec.nt file has become corrupted.
