strange bugs

A couple of weeks ago i found some kind of bug in the carpet but it looks nothing like a carpet beetle. I cleaned the floor thourghly but with in 1 day they appeared again. they just keep dying straight away. i have just had new carpets and underlay fitted and dont have a clue whaht they are. And we have no pets

could it be the carpet beetle larvae? is it actually a beetle, what colour, markings etc. - it may be something that has got in and possibly laid eggs when the carpet was stored by the shop and as it is warm in the house, they may just be hatching - you might want to let the shop where you bought it from know, if it gets to be a bad infestation you could claim from them.
Sounds like a Woolly Bear which get into carpets in the warehouses before delivery  Can't help re treatment though sorry
Possibly a Bacon beetle larva, they look a little like a caterpillar but with a distinct beetle-like front end and a sort of coccon that they drag along behind them. I have seen infestations in carpets, and they are very annoying since they seem to burrow into books and the like when it's time to metamorphosise.
