plumbing/heating problem

We had our loft insulated by British gas during the summer and over the last couple of months have had problems with our boiler cutting out (then working ok after being reset)
This was happening with no set pattern.
Over the last month we have also noticed that the overflow from the header tank has started to run and the pipes make a terrible rattling noise.
Looking into the loft, I see that the header tanks have both been fully wrapped in plastic and look as if they are airtight. Is this correct.
The boiler was new about 2 years ago and has been checked recently.
I think the problem is with the wrapping around the header tanks but would appreciate some advice from anyone that can confirm this.
Should add that the heating does work ok until the boiler trips, which seems to be becoming more frequent

thanks

Hi
The wrapping of the tanks is standard now .. part of a water bylaw .. and kits are fitted to spec. It's possible that the float/level adjustment was not set too well when the kits were fitted, so you need to check/reset the level. Any handyman should be able to do this in minutes, without a need for a plumber.
This is unlikely to be connected with a boiler tripping .. but get the tanks checked for problems first.

tks albags I'll have the OH check the tanks.
I had a similar problem. In my case, some lagging was dipping into the header tank and disintegrating and getting into the water system which started to clog up the heating system. check your header tank yourself to make sure this isnt the case. Worse scenario is having to power flush to your heating system.
Hopefully not.
