I have a largish (5ft) acer in a pot in my sheltered yard. Since the spring it has been attacked by a "bug" which clings onto the bark, it looks a bit like a miniature tortoise shell, and after a while produces a white cotton like substance. Can anypne tell me what it is and how to get rid of it?
I can't help personally, but a good garden center, unfortunately not always the most popular ones and biggest, should be of good help if you explain well.
