Yes if you put it on quickly before the paint dries. Were there signs up?

Will in pick off when it is dry salla. To be honest with you I don't hold out any hope for either your dress or your cashmere? Sorry :o(.

No - but the painter offered to rub it off my clothes for me (while I was still wearing them.....) No signs up near the offending doorframe - but my fault I suppose - I had seen them working in that area.

Well you should have taken them off for them! : )
If dry, you will need thinners (or plenty of nail varnish remover) W. Spirit will do nothing. If you do use thinners .. wash out with strong detergent while thinners still wet .. and quickly, because thinners dries really fast.
