Not sure what you mean by beading, in the wood or in studding, or in the fabric?
I think you are referring to Galloon, sometimes beaded or fringed
Question Author
It's the edgeing on the wood, like little beads
Question Author
Yes Bella 46 thats the word I am looking for Thank you
That's interesting, I only known Galloon as a lace edging, not in woodwork - we live and learn!
I think you might mean gadroon
I know the sort of decorative wood beading you are referring to beveridge; but I can't put a name to it. Galloon is as indicated by boxtops.....A narrow band or braid made of lace, metallic thread or embroidery.( I put trust in my dictionary.)

a gadrooned edge looks like a sort of scallop to me, here's one described as such http://cgi.ebay.co.uk...ed-Edge-/400161748801
scotman....You posted a minute before I did and are spot on with the answer.

Hi boxtops...I think we need to find a Cabinet Maker to truly answer the question because your thoughts about Gadroon (or Godroon) are correct. Most dictionaries describe it as being "a decorative moulding, composed of a series of convex flutes and curves".

Best wishes...Ron
