Could any of you gardeners, please tell me the best method to use,to eradicate a patch of clover, which has appeared in my lawn.
I don,t really want to use any product, that might turn it brown,it has taken a lot of care by mrs dg to get rid of the original brown patches.
With thanks for any helpful replies.

Our lawn is the opposite, its ALL clover with a couple of patches of grass, its very springy underfoot & looks good it always seems to be green.
BUT,grandad if you do get a cure for it, let me know.

Your only choice is a selective "broad leaf" weed killer at EXACTLY the prescribed dosages.
Clover seems to be the most difficult one to eradicate as the roots are deep. Never managed to do it without the help of chemicals.
At least, like jemisa says...with clover the lawn is always green and I might add, a lot easier and cheaper to look after, no worries about water hose pipe bans either, but I think you will have to get on down on your hands and knees and dig it out if you don`t want to use `Clover Killer`.
I find Clovertox is very effective. It's a liquid you just dilute and put into a watering can and pour over your patch of clover. Over a couple of weeks it will slowly die. The only problem is that you should avoid putting any grass cuttings treated with weedkiller onto your compost heap. However, it you put your grass clippings into your green waste disposal bin it won't matter.
Clover and yellow suckling clover have small leaves and are more effectively killed by liquid than granules as granules fall off the leaves. Weedkillers containing several ingredients is also more effective as clover is not easily killed. You could try Bayer Lawn Weedkiller Ready to Use 2. (You can spray right through until Sep but is most effective when the clover is actively growing and the soil is moist.)
It will self destroy if you leave it. Clover fixes nitrogen in the soil until there is too much for the clover to survive and it vanishes.
