We're currently living in a rental property that the owner is trying to sell at the same time. We have a suspicion we may be given notice soon as it looks as though they may have a buyer. After a cold miserable winter last year, we're seriously thinking of decamping to somewhere warm for the Winter months. My hubby is a writer/illustrator so hopefully he'll be able to work wherever we go. Can anyone recommend anywhere cheap and uplifting where we can spend the winter months? Also a good self storage facility for our belongings. I've been trying to get quotes, but nobody gives you a straight answer. We have the contents of a 3 bedroom house to store. I just need to get approx prices to work out if it's viable. Thank you all.

I love Northern Thailand. Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai and San Sean Mehkong river areas. I stay in a Teakwood Palace Hotel looking over the river to Laos.

Check companies and local individuals that offer lockable containers. They WILL do deals, because I was offered one at discount for a car! Look in local village mags, papers, etc.
Hi I agree on Thailand. For cheap flights out there book in advance with Air Asia they fly daily from Stansted. They run special offers like Ryanair etc. You have to fly to Kuala Lumpur then get a flight from there but if you get the flight on a deal can still save you money . We paid £249 each last winter. Food is very cheap accomodation is very cheap (try Agoda.com or Sawadee.com) As for storage we paid £20 a week but it cost us £300 to have it collected and £300 to have it delivered (both local addresses so make sure you check those costs too. Have fun!!
