No fun in bed

I spent a fortune on a Sealy Mirrorform bed a few months ago. A Mirrorform mattress becomes softer following contact with body heat and pressure and moulds itself to the individual body shape - thus it is supposed to be very comfortable. The manual said that it can take time for your body to adjust to sleeping correctly and that discomfort in the first 2-3 weeks is not uncommon. However the opposite has occured for me, I was initially comfortable but now after around six hours, my back feels stretched and I end up in such agony that I have to get up. I do have a bad back and last year suffered a slipped-disc for the first time. Now, to add to it, I am exhausted and worried that I have made a bad purchase. Any advice?
