I am in the process of purchasing a 1 bed Victorian conversion flat. The flat consists of lounge, 1 bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. The flat requires gas central heating, rewiring, new bathroom and a kitchen. Also each room needs to skimmed? I am hoping to do some
of the work myself to save money. How much do I need to put aside for each of these jobs? Any advice would be appreciated

Speaking from personal experience you must be mad to contemplate doing all of this yourself!!

You need to contact local tradepeople to give you quotes for gas, electrical and plumbing work. Gas all needs to be done by Corgi registered fitters else I don't think it's legal (from an insurance point of view).

Plastering materials you can price up yourself from local DIY shops, likewise you can visit DIY stores to cost flat-packed kitchens.

Basically there is no straightforward generic answer. Quotes will vary from one workman to the next, as will materials.

Sorry not to be more help. Good luck. You're going to need it...
