Hey,

My Dad says that when someone builds a house there is a standard building formula for pricing up the build. We have Googled it but can't find anything. Does anyone know where we can find information on this?

Thanks,
RR

Re, CF's link
I've always found this a particularly helpful guide, given that it is free.
The publisher of the magazine (Homebuilding & Renovation) updates it every month in the back of the magazine (the free one from this link was compiled in July 2009)
Bear in mind that it is an average indicator. Difficult ground conditions, sloping sites, extensive costs in long lengths to water, sewage, electricity or gas main services all can add disproportionately to any base cost.
