can anyone recommend a free home design tool, so i can put in my dimensions, move some furniture around, redesign the bathroom, that sort of thing?

Agree with the first line of Dennis' answer!! My house is full of odd angles and has a couple of curved walls, and I haven't yet found an easy+free download that will deal with them. A2 graph paper was the answer.
