Curtains, blinds or something else

I'm moving into a new flat with a stunning bay-window view of the river in my lounge.  The only problem is that I'm on the ground floor and there is some crime in the area.  I obviously want to hang something in the window to give me privacy and hide my stuff from view, but at the same time I don't want to loose my view.

Any ideas on what I can do?

You can't have both views and privacy - but you could try 'voils' as they are called. They are like thin curtains you can sort of see through. Got some at A$da for 10 in curtain section.

Or try venetian blinds as you can alter the amount of visibility to suit what you want...choosing a light colour (rather that wooden ones) will also allow natural light in.

Works very well in my overlooked kitchen.
