I have a plant in my garden that must have been 'planted' by the birds,it is now 4ft high and 3ft across, the med green leaves are 12in long by 9in wide many lobed and going to a point, the flowers are 2in long and,1,1/2in wide, white at the base and purple/blue at the top and are a flared bell shape, they grow out of a lantern shaped bud that grows bigger as the flower developes and when the flower drops off the next day the lantern gets a bit bigger and gets a dark purple 'seed' inside, this quickly grows to the size of a marble and starts to turn green with the lantern still green around it, this is as far as it has developed so far,
I have seen fruit in the supermarket that looks just like this but is orange/brown with the papery lantern still fixed, dont remember what its called, could birds have dropped such a seed, hoping that someone out there can throw some light on this for me, thanks
