How easy is it to change the kitchen door units - is it just the size of the doors that is important. The carcassses of the units seem fine to me - thought about just changing the doors and the worktop. I am not a DIY nut, but am okay - any advice please?

And before any suggestions on painting them, I would rather replace as I have painted in my previous house, and although it looked okay, fancy bringing this house more up to date.

IMHO It should be a complete breeze provided that the doors are the same size and you have basic tools like a spirit level, screwdrivers etc. We haven't put new doors on ours because they are a non standard size and I don't want to change them out for smaller ones, but the doors are panelled and over the years, the glue has failed and some of the hinges have  broken. Mr woofgang has glued the doors back together again and then fitted new hinges and put the doors back on.
take your kitchen door measurements to b&q and they will sort you out with the proper sizes and all the fittings ..you could search their site on the internet and see what they have to offer..best of luck my husband recently assembled my computer unit and i have drilled holes where they arnt suppose to be as he put the door hinges on back to front in the wrong place,,,mullein
Not a difficult job as doors now come in standard sizes.  However, check that the existing hinges fit on any new doors selected.  They always can be made to fit, after an awful lot of effort.
