i need a solar pannel to power a pond pump that runs off a 240v 40watt.

i want to power a piece of equipment for a pond, it uses 40watts on a 240v and needs to run constantly any info would be great.

Frankly this is a non-starter because it isn't cost effective.
Maplin want �600 just for the solar kit big enough to do this - you are going to need a 120W solar collector to allow for 24 hour working of the pump versus the 7 hours per day of average sunlight.

That's without the batteries to back it up and the inverter to turn 12V back into 240V AC.

You'll have to wait for another 3 years until the price of the technology reduces.

this solution is more cost effective that the �10000 wanted to conect to the national grid.
think we are coming to a solution with 120w solar panel and small turbine, with 2 large batt.
